Spring is picking up steam across Billings, and the calendar is filling fast. From live music (hello, Michael W. Smith and classic rock favorites) to community staples like the Montana Women’s Run, there’s something for every kind of local. Craft Beer Week kicks off May 10, bringing a full lineup of tastings and events, while dance competitions, markets, and even horse shows round out a packed couple of weeks.

Montana gardeners are spotting more praying mantis oothecae, the distinctive egg cases clinging to twigs and stems throughout the region.

 

These foamy cases safeguard mantis eggs through winter, ultimately releasing hatchlings come spring.

The Western Heritage Center in Billings has launched “Having a Beer in Billings,” inviting locals to explore the city’s history with beer through an immersive exhibit running until December 2026.

Billings’ South Park transformed into a lively center of Hispanic pride on May 2, 2026, as student-led group Raza Unida hosted its vibrant second annual Cinco de Mayo celebration.

 

Local students organized the festivities to unite Hispanic youth and share their rich heritage, while also raising funds for a cultural and educational trip to Denver
