In a heartwarming celebration of dedication and passion, Monnyca Kramer, a kindergarten teacher at Big Sky Elementary, has been honored with the prestigious "One Class at a Time" award. This recognition highlights her unwavering commitment to fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment for her young students.
"Oh my gosh, just keep it fun. That's all we can do," Mrs. Kramer shared, emphasizing the importance of enjoyment in education. She finds immense joy in witnessing the remarkable growth of her students, noting, "It's amazing in kindergarten to see their growth because they come in as little babies, but by now they have just learned so many things, and they're just always so engaged and love it."
Understanding the significance of a comfortable and stimulating classroom, Mrs. Kramer takes pride in creating a well-decorated space that puts her students at ease. "I think it's a lot about sensory in my classroom," she explained. With her own experience of low vision, she ensures the environment is inviting by keeping the lights low and incorporating elements like music and thoughtful lighting to maintain a calm and supportive atmosphere.
Beyond her role as an educator, Mrs. Kramer serves as a mentor to her colleagues, advocating for teamwork and collaboration. "I think it's just important to work as a team," she stated. She believes that collective efforts among teachers significantly enhance student support and success.
Her dedication extends to community engagement, playing a pivotal role in revitalizing the school's PTA program. Recently, she organized an event inviting the community for donuts, coffee, milk, music, and fun, aiming to strengthen community bonds and support for teachers.
Mrs. Kramer's aspirations for her students are simple yet profound: "Just to have fun and to always try their best because that's all that matters."
In recognition of her exceptional contributions, the Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools presented Mrs. Kramer with a $500 grant, proudly sponsored by Western Security Bank. Additionally, City Brew Coffee honored her with a $150 gift card and other tokens of appreciation.
The "One Class at a Time" program continues to celebrate educators like Mrs. Kramer, whose dedication profoundly impacts their students and the broader community. |
