A new culinary destination has emerged in downtown Billings, offering a delightful fusion of Nepalese and Indian flavors. Curry Bar & Grill, located at 119 N. Broadway, has revitalized the former Bin 119 space, bringing a fresh taste to the area.
The menu boasts a variety of curry dishes, including the ever-popular butter chicken, alongside traditional naan bread. For those seeking authentic Nepalese cuisine, the restaurant serves momo—savory dumplings that are a staple street food in Nepal.
Owner Hemant Bhandari brings a wealth of experience to this venture. Having spent over a decade in the U.S., he honed his skills in various restaurant kitchens, progressing from prep work to management. Prior to this, Bhandari and his partners successfully operated Mt. Everest Nepalese and Indian Bistro in Riverton, Wyoming, for nearly three years.
The decision to open in Billings was strategic. Bhandari noted the limited presence of Indian restaurants in the area and saw an opportunity to introduce authentic flavors to the community. Since its recent opening, the restaurant has received an enthusiastic response from patrons.
Emphasizing quality and authenticity, dishes are prepared with a blend of spices such as cardamom, coriander, and cinnamon. Fresh naan bread is baked to order in a traditional tandoor oven, ensuring an authentic dining experience.
Curry Bar & Grill operates daily from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., offering beer and wine, with plans to expand its beverage offerings in the near future. |
