The Billings Fun Con opened its doors this Saturday at the MetraPark Expo Center, marking its third annual celebration of all things fandom.

Enthusiasts from across Montana and beyond are gathering to immerse themselves in a vibrant array of activities, from exploring vendor booths and meeting artists to engaging with celebrity guests and participating in various competitions.

The convention, which runs through Sunday, offers a diverse lineup of events designed to cater to fans of all ages and interests.

Attendees can look forward to trading card tournaments, role-playing games, flash tattoos, and a highly anticipated cosplay competition.

Organizers emphasize that the event continues to grow each year while maintaining affordability for families.

Children 12 and under enjoy free admission, while tickets for others are priced at $15.

Guests have the unique opportunity to meet figures from film, television, and art, including actor Brett Wagner, known for his role as Leatherface in the 2003 remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."

Fred Moormeier, the owner of Montana Fun Con, highlights the convention's inclusive approach.

"We aim to bring various fandoms together under one roof," Moormeier explains.

"It's not just a Comic-Con or an anime convention; we're striving to be a bit of everything."

This broad mix is what sets the event apart in Billings.

Moormeier encourages attendees to use the convention as a platform to connect, discover new interests, and appreciate the creativity behind their favorite stories and characters.

"You don't have to be a nerd or belong to a specific fandom to attend," he says.

"This truly is a place for everyone who wants to have a good time."

Wagner notes the enthusiastic atmosphere.

"The energy here is fantastic," he remarks.

"If you're not here, you're missing out."
